This morning I was devastated to hear the news that Gangstarr frontman and Hip-Hop legend Keith Elam, AKA The Guru, 43, is currently "fighting for his life" after a cardiac episode over the weekend.
I am a 33 year old who grew up idolizing this man and his partner, DJ Premier. "Words I Manifest" (below) is one of the songs that solidified my love for hip-hop music, and it endures today as a classic. As a person who has lost family members due to heart issues, I understand the seriousness of this situation, and my thoughts and prayers go out to this man and his family.
... also, we will be suspending BBWF's regular "departments" for the time being. By this, I mean things like "Booby Tuesday," "Tweets of the Week," and "Random Hotness." Work is intensifying, and I won't be able to make weekly appointments for specialized posts. I'll be posting everything as the mood strikes, so you'll never know what to expect. Exciting, huh? The departments will be back soon, after the heat dies down a bit.
